"Behold, my friends, the spring is come; the earth has gladly received the embraces of the sun, and we shall soon see the results of their love!" -Sitting Bull

Poor Dexter has not been very happy with me for leaving him at Amy's house when we went to KY and when we went to SD this past weekend. He misses me and when we got home he pretty much attaches himself to my leg. Poor poor puppy.

This is the dress that I made for myself. We have two wedding to go to this spring so I had to make myself something new to wear. I am taking a week break from sewing because I have to get ready for Easter. Hopefully I will get back to some of my projects next week.
Since it is finally nice out I have been taking the dogs for walks. They are super excited to get out walking again.
Since I made myself a new dress I HAD to get myself a new pair of shoes. After consulting with Cassie these are the shoes I got. I love them!

My new addiction is ice coffee. I had to go to Caribou on my birthday because I got a free drink, so I got a ice coffee. Since then I have been making regular trips to Caribou. They are so good. It is a good thing we do not have a Caribou in Waseca!
Last Thursday I babysat Josie and Eli. It was fun to have them over since I don't babysit them very often anymore. It was a nice day out so we got to play outside. Once Rick got home he played a little baseball with Josie. She could really hit the ball good. Eli was good and tired by the end of the day.

On Friday Cassie, Amy and I went to the Junk Bonanza at Canterbury. I have never been there before. We all managed get a couple things and still come home with money. They had so much to look at. Some of it was way over priced but there was a lot of good deals, you just had to find them.
I told Rick I was going to do this to my deer since he hates the mount of it. He said it looks creepy. I figure I will make it pretty :)
That's right it is Peep season!! It is my favorite time of the year. Mmmmmmmmmm Peeps.

Sorry for the long time between post. I have been busy busy busy. I have lots of stuff coming up so I will try and keep up on my post.

Firewood.....

We finally had these two trees removed today. This is the view out the window before the trees were taken down.
As you can see they were right below the steps and pretty much in the way. They hung over the house and caused a huge mess with branches, leafs and acorns falling on the roof all the time.
So we hired someone to come take them down. We let them take most of the wood leaving just the big logs for us for firewood.
It was interesting to watch them take it down without dropping any of it on the roof.
Now we have a view out the window with out trees in the way. I am sure the squirrels will not like it that they will no longer be able to get on the roof of the house.
No we need to decide what we are going to do for landscaping. It really opens up the back of the house.
The most exciting thing we did today is get the camper out of storage! We had it at my Dad's house in his big shed. We had to get it out when the snow was gone but the ground was still frozen. Mom called me last night and said that today was the day. So we were there at 8:30 this morning.

I am so excited to go camping again! I love our camper!

Book, Plants,Sewing, Bow, and WHAT WAS I THINKING........

I have not done a book review for awhile so I thought I would start out my blog today with one. I came across the book Toward Daylight by Tracy Lee Karner because the author is someone that I went to high school with. When I reconnected with her on Facebook I found out she had written a book. Since I like to support people that I know I downloaded it to my Kindle not really knowing what it was about. I was very happy that I did. It is a great book for anyone to read if they are going though any illness. Tracy was a healthy, active women when she was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Her book was an inspiring journey on over coming her struggles with her illness, building a new life with her husband and reaching her goal to become a writer. I recommend it!

Now on to plants. I have gotten a little carried away with my house plants. I'm not sure when it started but it has started to get a little out of hand. I am spending more and more time taking care of them. I keep rescuing plants and bringing them back to life. I did not even take pictures of all of them. I keep wondering down the plant section in Walmart and keep coming home with new flower pots and soil and maybe even a new plant. Rick is beginning to think I have a problem.....
Of course this is my pride and joy....the Boston Fern that I rescued from my Mom.

I have been sewing like crazy.              I made Josie  these two jumpers

I also made this Easter dress for Josie, I am going to put a bigger ribbon on it. I have also sewed two pair of pajama pants for Rick, one for Liam and a nightgown for me. Today I started on a dress for me. Hopefully I will get it finished tomorrow. When that is done I am going to move onto the rain coats that Christa and I bought fabric for. I am excited to make them, if they turn out they will be really cute!

I got my new bow last week! I am very happy with it. I finally have a bow that fits me perfect without doing a bunch of stuff to it to make it fit. It is a Hoyt Pro Camp Elite FX-SD.
Rick made these really pretty strings for the bow. Everyone loved them last night at league.

Yes that is me!! I was looking at some photos that other day and came across this one. It was taken in 2000 when I was in Europe. I look like a boy! I'm not sure what I was thinking when I picked out that shirt and those super cool sunglasses. Not to mention my styling haircut.

Louisville....

This past weekend we went to Louisville Kentucky for the NFAA Indoor Tournament. We left Thursday after I got home from work. The first night we drove until just after 11:00 and stopped just over the border of IL. Friday we got into Kentucky around 4:00. We had a great view of the Ohio River from our hotel room. Here are a couple of pictures we took from the room.

Saturday Rick had his first day of shooting. He shot in the Senior class for the first time. He did great tying for 3rd place. He was very happy with that since it is a national tournament. He had fun shooting and is already talking about going back next year.

Saturday after he was done shooting we walked around downtown Louisville. It was 61 degrees and sunny out. It felt so good to just feel the heat and the sun. It was a relaxing afternoon.

The buildings were all so beautiful downtown. The building above and below must be collapsing because they had the huge beams holding it up. We saw several building that they were saving. It is nice to see them save the old beautiful buildings.

The sunset on Saturday night was a beautiful site from our hotel window.

Sunday Rick did not shoot until 2:30 so we did not leave for home until almost 7:30. We drove until 1:00 a.m. and then got a hotel for the night. We were back on the road at 7:45 this morning and made it back home around 12:30. It really was a pretty nice drive down and back. The roads are all nice and we  only hit traffic once for about 10 minutes when we arrived in Louisville.

We had a great weekend.

I'm going to be busy.......

Sunday I met Cassie and Christa and we went fabric shopping. It was so much fun and I got way to much fabric. We went to two different shops. One is SR Harris Fabric. They have over 30,000 square feet of fabric. I wish I had  more time to sew. It was fun to pick from so many different fabrics.
Before we went shopping we went out for brunch. Cassie picked out a fabulous restaurant called Barbette . We all enjoyed our meals and our drinks.
This is all the fabric that I bought. I have so many things to sew that I don't know where to start. I am going to be busy!
I thought this was so funny. It is a elderly townhouse complex near us and it is just about snowed in. Hopefully you don't meet anyone on the path because you will not have room to pass each other :)
Today I got my haircut off! I was sick of it and needed a changed. I figures in a year or so I will be ready to grow it out again. I have had short hair almost all of my life and have wanted to cut it off for awhile. I finally got Cassie's permission since she cut hers off and short hair is in style now. Rick was not home to take pictures so you get a couple of selfie pictures.

Enjoy your day
