Courthouse Park......

Today we took advantage of the beautiful day and went skiing in Courthouse Park. It was so beautiful out there with all the snow on the trees. A lot of the trail were blocked with the heavy snow pulling the trees down but it was fun to plow on through them. Enjoy the pictures....

 Enjoy the day...

The Beauty After The Storm......

I may complain a lot about the winter weather but there is no denying the beauty of the snow and ice when the storm is done and the sun is shining.

Poor Dexter can hardly see over the path that Rick made  for him.
Trying to get down the snow covered steps
Rick being a good neighbor by helping them clean there driveway since they do not have a snow blower.
The poor birds are going to have a hard time getting to the bird food.

I hope you were lucky enough to stay home today but if you were not I take your time and drive safe.

Please be nice Mother Nature......

On Sunday Rick and I pulled the skis out and went out skiing in the land behind our house. It was nice because the creek is frozen over so we could  ski right down it to get over to the wooded and grass area. It felt good to be out enjoying the snow. It was one of those perfect winter days that we have had very few of this year.
Yesterday since it was 40 degrees out I asked Rick if he wanted to go for a walk. He said we should go for a bike ride so we did. It was fun to take the bikes out in the middle of winter. We went around the lake on the bike trail, so about 7 miles. It was mostly clear pavement but we got to go through a little snow too.
Tuesday was our 4th anniversary. Rick surprised me and sent me flower to work. It was very nice!

I have had it with this winter! It needs it to be done. Either that or I need to get a new job. On Monday it was white out conditions again. It was so stressful driving in to work. I had to come to a complete stop several times because the road completely disappeared. I don't know how much more of the stress of driving in this shit I can take. I really don't mind the drive at all when the weather is nice but the stress of driving in the snow, ice and white outs is getting to be overwhelming. Now today we are getting another blizzard! Mother Nature needs to stop being such a bitch.....

Stay safe and stay home if you can....

Shopping Hungry.....

It is always a mistake to shop hungry. On Thursday I went to Owatonna to get a  birthday gift for Liam and decided that I need to stop at Fleet Farm.  After I got what I needed I got what I did not need! Fleet Farm has the best candy and nut selection. And since I was hungry I may have gotten a few things I should not have. Like the two bags of corn nuts above. You will notice that one of them is open, it is because I could not wait till I got home and had to eat them in the car. They are sooooo good. In fact I am eating some right now......

So lesson for the day....do not shop hungry!

Vegas Vacation.....

This year in Vegas I discovered that if you eat the breakfast buffet you could drink Bloody Mary's for free. So every day I started the day with one. They were delish!
We stay at  South Point which is 7 miles off the strip. This is the view from our window. The first couple of days we were there it was cloudy and a little chilly. Well it was chilly to some people but for us MN people it was wonderful. Saturday and Sunday it was nice out getting close to 70.
One of the highlights of our trip this year was going to Donny and Marie. I went with Jane and Connie on Thursdays night. It was such a great show. It was in an old school showroom with tables and chairs. I got us tickets right next to the stage. They would not let you take pictures during the show but I snapped this picture of the stage before the show started. I was really fun to be so close. Donny and Marie put on a fabulous show. We all grew up watching the Donny and Marie show and listening to there records so it was fun to see them live. They really interacted with the audience and Donny even touched all of our hands. Pretty exciting for us 50 plus year old ladies.  :)

Friday was the first day of shooting.
Friday was also the BCY party. We always have a great time at it. We get to eat and drink for free. All the Waseca crew was at the party this year.

Saturday was day two of shooting. Rick shot a 299 on Saturday, he was very happy with that.

Saturday after Rick shot we went for a walk and then sat out by the pool for awhile and just relaxed in the sun. It was so nice to feel the warmth of the sun .
Sunday was the last day of shooting. Rick ended up in 67th place out of 853 shooters in the freestyle unlimited flights.
After the shooting was all done Jane, Paul, Connie, Larry and Rick and I went to the Bellagio for the buffet. It was so good. I even tried some sushi and liked it.
They had so many desserts that I had to take several and try them. I restrained myself from going back for more.
After eating we walked around the conservatory in the Bellagio
Monday we flew out of Vegas at 10:00 and were back in MN at 3:00.
Tuesday it was back to work. When we were at the Donny and Marie show we all got a drink and they gave us a glass to keep with our drink. When I got home from work on Tuesday I looked around and could not find the glass. I asked Rick where it was and he said he put it away. Well he put it way up high a cabinet where I cannot reach it. I think he was trying to hide it.......
I made him take it down and put it where I can see it.......

Going to the theater......

Last week I was able to go to Evita at the Orpheum in Minneapolis with a friend. It was a great show. I have wanted to see Evita for a number of years and this year I was finally able to go. We are  lucky in Minnesota to have such a great theater district that brings such great productions in. I really wish I could afford to buy season tickets for this coming theater season, there is a number of plays I would love to see. Hopefully I will be able to go to a few of them.

The other night I had a dream about my Uncle Kenny who died this last fall. In my dream I was sitting on a bench with Amy and my Dad and we were all getting ready to do a run/walk race. Uncle Kenny was just standing over us with a smile and looking at my Dad. That was it, just a short little dream...I think it was Uncle Kenny telling me that he was watching over my Dad, who took it very hard when he died. Maybe it just me making something out of nothing but I like to believe that the love ones we have lost are always with us in spirit and watching over us. I believe that they send us messages sometimes to help us through trouble times. All I know for sure was when I woke up I felt happy that my Dad had his brother with him, watching over him....

Today is my last day of work for six days. We leave for Vegas tomorrow. I can't wait to get out of here and feel a little heat! January was endless. I am already dreaming of summer camping trips....
