New York...

A few months ago, Amy got into the Brooklyn half-marathon. She asked me if I wanted to go along to cheer her on, and of course I said yes! New York has been on my bucket list forever. I was so excited to see all the things I had heard so much about.

Race day was hot and humid. It is so inspirational to see everyone show up and run their race. Carey and I managed to see Amy 5 times on the course and cheer her on.

The race ended on Coney Island.

I love visiting cemeteries; there is so much history to be found in them, and they are incredibly peaceful. We found two to visit, the Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn and one in Manhattan.

World Trade Center

Grand Central Station

We saw a play on Broadway, & Juliet. It was so good!!

Times Square was crowded and busy, but exhilarating!

We took a boat tour around the island. I loved hearing the history of the buildings and all the different areas.

Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge

Wall Street

Down in one of the many Subways. We became pros at navigating the subways by the time we left. By we, I mean Carey. I just followed along 😂

We visited this church in Manhattan. It was so beautiful. When I walked in, I immediately thought of my Mom. They had candles everywhere that you could light for a loved one and say a prayer. I thought to myself, I should do that for Mom. Then Carey asked me if I wanted to light a candle, and I told him I didn't want to because I would cry. Of course, I then immediately started to cry. I think Mom was with me at the moment. Sad and happy all at the same time.

We made it to Central Park a couple of times. It is so pretty.

We walked on the High Line on our last evening.

It was such a good trip. We saw so many things and ate such wonderful food. I walked over 56 miles in the 5 days we were there. It was fun to spend time with Amy and Carey. I am so grateful they asked me to go.

Do the things you want to do now....
